Miranda Lundy "Sacred Geometry"

神聖幾何学ということで、自然や古代遺跡や伝統模様に出てくる幾何を並べているが、幾何学自体は弱い。もちろん大人が眺めても癒されるが、基本はやはり男子小中学生向きだろうか・・・。わたしが子どもの頃はこういう幾何学模様は好きだったし、自分でも色々考案していたが、学校教育というか美術教育はこういうのには否定的だよな。連中はもっと「生きた絵画」しか評価しない・・・。つまり、この本も子どもの頃に出会いたかったのである。

A collection of geometric designs which appear in religious arts or the nature etc. I used to love this kind of art when I was a kid, but art teachers generally hated children doing geometric designs instead of more "natural" drawings. Sigh.
